Green Meadow Country Club is located just outside of Pikeville, Kentucky, in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.  The club was founded in 1952 on land that was donated by the “Snoot Club.”  The Clubhouse was designed by Jack T. Hatcher and built thru the efforts of the following people:

Clyde Childers, Jr., Lloyd H. Childers, W. F. Clark, R. H. Davis, T. I. Doty, Jack L. Hatcher, J. P. Hobson, Jr., Alvis (Pat) Keene, J. S. Miller, R. E. Riley, Earl Scott, Henry J. Scott, John H. Scott, Jr., Frank Scott, W. E. Venters, F. A. Vernon, E. Bruce Walters, Walter R. Wells, Charles F. Wilson, and E. P. Wright.

The original course was designed by Charlie Keyser, a prominent Pikeville businessman who was a nationally recognized amateur player.  Mr. Keyser competed against the legendary Bobby Jones and is recognized as the first “Pro” employed by the club. 

William E. “Slim” Nelson was employed a short time later and was instrumental in teaching golf to the youth of the club.  He is credited with developing the talents of many golfers who went on to state and national prominence.

Green Meadow Country Club is the home club of PGA Tour Winner Robert Damron, Nationwide Tour Players Patrick Damron and Grover Justice as well as Hooters Tour Player Don Paul Corbin.  The club is also home to veteran Amateur player Bruce G. Walters, winner of the Kentucky Junior Amateur, Mid-Amateur and Senior Amateur.   Mr. Walters has also won the Kentucky Senior Open as well as being named Player of the Year and the Senior Player of the Year.  E. Bruce Walters II has also won the Kentucky Mid-Amateur Championship.

The club features a nine hole golf course, measuring 3042 yards from the back tees, with a par of 35.  The normal routing is to play the gray/blue combination for a par of 70.  The course also features Ladies, as well as Senior Tee Markers.

The formal course record is a 59, 11 under par, shot by Jimmy Newsome in July 1994.  This event was witnessed by Kevin Auton, Ben Cassady and Harold Ray.

Green Meadow Country Club is the home course for the Pikeville High School Golf Teams and the Pikeville College Golf Teams.
